Macadamia Nut Oil - We use the natural oil from this Hawaiian nut in many of our products for its emollient properties.

Magnolia Blossoms - The essential oil of magnolia, used in fragrances and as a natural tonic for the hair and skin.

Mandarin Orange Peel - (See Sweet Orange Peel.)

Mango Butter - The butter of the mango fruit, similar to jojoba butter. An excellent moisturizer.

Marigold - (See Calendula.)

Marshmallow Root - Rich emollient that softens and protects the skin.

Menthol - Derived from peppermint, menthol's warming/cooling properties have a soothing effect on the skin.

Milk Thistle - Clinical studies have shown its active compound -- silymarin, a flavonoid with strong antioxidant properties‹helps protect skin cells from free radical damage caused by sun exposure and pollution. Very soothing to the skin and scalp.

Mint - A natural refresher, its cooling and soothing properties make it a good ingredient for cleansers and astringents. Sometimes used as a fragrance.

Mistletoe - Known for its soothing properties on sensitive skin. It is often combined with fennel, hops, camomile, balm-mint and yarrow in skin formulations.

Mucopolysaccharides - (From aloe vera.) Plant or animal substances which bind with water to form the thick, jelly-like material that cements cells together. Used in skin and hair care formulations for their ability to retain water. (We use only natural, organically-grown aloe vera.)

Myrrh - A superb stimulant and skin tonic. Its mild, skin-freshening action is ideal for sensitive skin. Often used as a fragrance.
